Nadia has been working as a Physiotherapist in private practice since 2000. With a passion for treating chronic pain and wanting to get to the source of people’s suffering, she began studying the science of Osteopathy in 2001. The following 9 years included numerous advancements in her personal and professional life. She married, had 3 children, moved back to her hometown Timmins, Ontario, opened a private practice and graduated from her Osteopathic Manual Therapy program. She has since become certified in the Pilates Method of exercise and shortly thereafter opened The Movement Studio, Timmins’ very first Pilates/Yoga Studio.
Nadia is regularly taking new courses and studying new material with the purpose of offering the best possible service to her clients. With her new model of focusing on the Pilates/Yoga Method combined with Physiotherapy and Osteopathy, the potential for health is great!
Danya has been working as a Registered Nurse in home care since 2012. Shortly after graduating from her B.Sc.N. program she decided to pursue studies in Traditional Osteopathy. She began her studies in Osteopathy eager to learn new methods to treat the causes of pain and imbalance to help patients restore function in their body. She joined Nadia’s practice in 2015, and hopes to continue to learn and grow as a practitioner under Nadia’s guidance. Danya graduated from The Canadian College of Osteopathy in the fall of 2018. By combining her background in Western Medicine and her newly acquired knowledge in Osteopathy, she is optimistic in helping her patients on their journey to better health.
Roddy has worked as a Physical Education Teacher for 16 years. He has always had an interest in human development and body mechanics. He became certified in the Pilates Method in 2014 and teaches men's and kids' Pilates classes. He became a manual osteopathic practitioner (DOMP) in 2016 and presently practices at The Movement Studio.

Pierre graduated from the University of Waterloo’s Bachelor of Science in Honours Kinesiology program in the spring of 2015. In an effort to deepen his knowledge and understanding of the human body he decided to pursue osteopathic studies at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy. Pierre is currently in his final year of osteopathic education. His goal is to combine his passion and knowledge of human biomechanics and anatomy to uncover and eradicate the root cause of dysfunctions in order to help patients. Pierre uses his expertise in exercise physiology and human movement along with his ever-growing osteopathic insight to assist patients attain a healthier state.
Jennifer graduated from Laurentian University’s Kinesiology program with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Hons.) in the Spring of 2016. To continue with her interests of human movement and rehabilitation, she continued her studies at Sutherland-Chan Massage and Teaching Clinic in Toronto – graduating from the accelerated program in November 2017.
During her massage placements in Toronto, she was able to treat a variety of patients with soft tissue injuries, high-risk pregnancy, and breast cancer/cancer. In addition, she was able to work with and treat general surgical patients, seniors, and patients suffering with central nervous system disorders, including spinal cord rehabilitation and multiple sclerosis.
Her goals of each treatment are to help aid soft tissue impairments and pain management by incorporating a wide variety of techniques, including soft tissue manipulation, hydrotherapy, myofascial release, low grade joint mobilizations, and therapeutic exercise in order to help her patients function optimally in their daily life.

Jo-Anne is a married, mother of three and has a passion for caring. Jo-Anne came to The Movement Studio in 2003 after being involved in a motor vehicle accident, which left her in chronic neck and low back pain. The combination of Osteopathy treatments from Nadia and private Physio-Pilates, assisted in her healing process and changed her health significantly. Her passion for Pilates grew from here, and Jo- Anne began attending classes regularly. Her belief, passion and a thirst for knowledge in Pilates lead her to become a Certified Pilates Teacher.
Jo-Anne is highly professional, organized and has an excellent work ethic. Her friendly personality and attention to detail allow her to manage clients effectively.
Jo-Anne can be found everywhere in The Movement Studio! From answering phone calls and emails, managing social media accounts, scheduling patients, helping out as a physiotherapy assistant and teaching private and group Pilates classes.
Jo-Anne is excited to be working alongside each member of The Movement Studio Team as they work together to see patients succeed in their rehabilitation goals. She is a welcome addition to our team.
Yoga Teacher, Certified Pilates Instructor
Jess offers Therapeutic Piates and Yoga classes and private sessions. Her role at the studio is to keep you moving safely as you enhance your mind, body and spirit. She can help you improve core strength, alignment, flexibility and mobility and decrease anxiety and stress. Jess' Yoga background allows for variety and fun movements in her classes. She has a soft and calm demeanour but will challenge you at the same time. Her cueing is simple and to the point. Jess likes to keep her clients moving and has a knack for modifying movements to make them work for every'body'. The safety and well being of her clients is very important to her, she challenges you in a safe non invasive way. Jess loves to create a fun yet relaxing environment with playlists so be sure to let her know your favourite song. Not into music ? That's okay too, she also likes to embraces the silence and listen to breath. Enjoy the last 5 mins of class as Jess guides you to rest and relaxation. You leave feeling strong, recharged and detoxified. Jess graduated from Humber College from the Funeral Service Education Program in Toronto. Since then she has served families in the Timmins and Canmore, Alberta area. As a hobby, Jess has always been active in the health and fitness world. From team sports, half marathons, snowboarding, rock climbing, hiking, personal training and yoga. Jess studied core power yoga and mentored with Jenny Wong from Bodhi Tree Hot Yoga Studio and has been teaching there since 2012. She enjoys participating and teaching hot yoga vinyasa classes. She claims to be a lifetime student, always learning and evolving. She has taken additional courses and workshops to compliment her teachings ie: personal training Canfit, anatomy and physiology, yoga for pelvic floor strength, shaking method (for trauma, ptsd), mediation, assisting, kids yoga, restore with hot stones, pre-natal yoga, transitions/modifications and PILATES. An injury changed her personal practice and that is when she discovered the importance of listening to your own body's limitations and modifying when needed. Her practice continues to give her strength and calmness and she wants to share it with you.

Elisa has learnt to appreciate the importance of maintaining a happy and healthy body from a lifetime of athletic involvement.
She graduated from the University of Western Ontario’s Bachelor of Science Kinesiology program with Honours in 2013. During that time, she was a member of the women’s varsity swim team. Shortly after graduation, she decided to continue her studies by enrolling in the accelerated massage therapy program at Sutherland-Chan in Toronto. Elisa has been working as a registered massage therapist in Kitchener since 2014. She is experienced in treating a wide range of clients in different stages of healing and adapts every treatment according to her client’s specific needs, whether they are in pain, or simply want a relaxation treatment.
Elisa’s passion for learning about the human body has led her to continue her studies by enrolling in the Osteopathy program at the Canadian College of Osteopathy beginning in September. ” Welcome Elisa!

The healing process often involves not only the body, but also the mind. Chandra Ciccone will be supporting The Movement Studio clients by facilitating group workshops which aim to promote mental wellness and to provide tools to assist with goal-setting, challenging limiting beliefs and negative self-talk, overcoming fears, building self-confidence, resilience and self-compassion, as well as creating space for self-care and daily self-regulating practices such as mindfulness and meditation. Chandra also offers individual and small group counselling sessions.
Chandra’s role at the studio will be to help clients explore some of the mental, emotional, relational and / or behavioural challenges that may be holding them back or affecting their well-being.
Chandra is a lifelong learner who believes that health is a balance of body, mind and spirit. She holds an Honours BA Double Major in English and Psychology, a Bachelor of Education, and a Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology. She is a member of the OACCPP (Ontario Association for Consultants, Counsellors Psychometrists and Psychotherapists), as well as the CPA (Canadian Psychological Association). She also has a passion for music, film and creative writing, and has worked in the education system for the past 14 years in various capacities. We are excited to welcome Chandra to The Movement Studio family.
